Homework week 11: Soundcloud recording

Homework:
1. Embed all of the clips from your Purpose Worksheets (last week's homework) and develop your answers to hit the Merit criteria. 
Add your own contemporary example of editing and discuss Time, Rythm and Space - make the point that editing has not changed since the Pioneers

2. If you did not complete the voiceover work this week in lesson your Homework is to complete your section of your Timeline Audio Commentary. 

3. If you did, complete the responses to the Merit questions as notes on your blog to be recorded next week.

In lessons week complete your Task 2 Video Voiceover for 'Alternative and Mainstream Techniques and Purposes of editing in contemporary editing'

Task 1: BFI Video Guide: 'Development of Editing: Technology, Pioneers, Techniques and Styles' (Groups of 2)

Student 1 will discuss the Timeline of the Pioneers, their films, Techniques and Styles

Student 2 will discuss the Timeline of Technology 

You can use the headphones and record in S022 on Tuesday from 4:15-5:15 or you can do this yourselves at home using Soundcloud.

Do not use your phones unless you have the Soundcloud app as you must be able to upload your sound files to your blogs and use them in the mac suite.

Use your presentations in the Timeline to form your script. To achieve the Merit you must discuss the development 

Pass: 
Pioneer 1. Describe Early Pioneers - why where they Pioneers of editing, what did they develop or contribute?
Pioneer 2. Describe the Techniques and Styles used by the Early pioneers, 
Pioneer 3: Describe the Purpose of editing  (Time, Space & Rhythm) with reference to their films

Technology 1. Describe the development of Editing Technology, dates and how it worked/was used

Merit: 
Pioneers 1. Explain why they are Pioneers and their contribution.
Pioneers 2. How editing developed from one Pioneer to another, the Styles and Techniques used with reference to their films (examples) 
Pioneers 3. Explain the Purpose of editing (Time, Space & Rhythm) and how these have not changed 

Technology 1. Explain the reasons for the next Technological development and how it and how it impacted editing (Formats: Film, TV, Video)
Technology 2. Explain the benefits and drawback of each Technological development

  • George Melies - A Trip to the Moon - editing in the camera - surreal/special effects style, fades, stop Motion, double exposure, split screen
